Poole Nature Reserve, Brownsea Island, and to the west, The Purbecks, Corfe Castle and the Jurassic Coastline are all worth a visit. Moors Valley is a popular place to visit and is dog friendly - as well as scenic walks and excellent wildlife spotting, there is a host of recreational activities. Avon Heath nearby for keen walkers, and there are various fishing lakes (mainly carp) and golf courses in the area. The New Forest National Park is easily accessible, as is the charming town of Fordingbridge which has a host of shops, cafés and eateries, as well as the gently flowing River Avon. Visit the cathedral cities of Winchester and Salisbury, or Christchurch Harbour and Stonehenge.
