Further afield is the delightful seaside resort of Saltburn which is well worth the visit whilst in this part of the country. Whitby is another must-see location with its delightful river and harbour. A charming terraced cottage in a terrific location.
Guisborough is an market town set in rural surroundings on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. Steeped in history, Guisborough is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the town's most notable feature is Gisborough Priory; standing in full glory, to its original height of 97 feet, the dramatic gothic east gable towers high over the market town and has become a well-known icon of the town. This small town has twice-weekly market days, a selection of eateries, pubs and shops. Around Guisborough sits Guisborough Forest; visitors can enjoy a variety of activities, including walking and cycling and take in views over the Tees Valley and Eston Hills. The trail of the Cleveland Way passes close by, whilst nearby Roseberry Topping is well worth the climb to take in the views. An easy thirty minute drive brings you to the Heritage Coastline, with historic villages and resorts, including Staithes, Saltburn and Whitby to enjoy.
