Stunningly beautiful and renovated to the highest standards, The Hyning Estate offers seven self catering cottages. All are beautifully appointed and sympathetic to their 17th century origins. Retained beams, sandstone quoins, limestone floors, roof top patios, Juliette balconies and ironwork are skilfully combined with modern bathrooms, oak and granite kitchens, woodburning stoves and the latest high-tech appliances. Inspired design, the best local materials, reuse and sustainability all coalesce to create a truly outstanding holiday experience.
The Estate is triple glazed with ground source heat pumps and solar panels providing hot water and underfloor heating backed by Heat Recovery (MVHR) systems. Electricity is supplied from Hydro, Windpower, Biomass and Photovoltaic sources and we have an IEC62196 (Type 2) Mode 3 Electric Vehicle Charging Socket.
THE OLD FORGE
The accommodation is on one level and so will be particularly attractive for those who don't like stairs although it has no special mobility features and is not suitable for wheelchairs.
The Old Forge is built in the style of a "Bank Barn" - entered at one side from ground level but with 1st floor views from all the other sides. The twin-aspect windows in the lounge face South & East and provide great views of the fells, the beck and the many fabulous sunsets. Guests often refer to it as "home from home" and it’s not hard to see why... everything is "just so".

The Carriage House is ideal for those caring for someone with low mobility and The Old Forge is also at ground level.
Location and setting
Easy to get to and close to the area’s main tourist attractions yet away from the Lakeland traffic hotspots, the Estate is accessed from a long private driveway which opens up to reveal extensive grounds with mature planting surrounded by farm and parkland in a beautiful and very peaceful setting.
