Positive: The location. Beds were comfortable. Bathrooms were clean and property in general was clean

Negative: The very unpleasant odour of dogs in the property particularly in the front bedroom. The owner arrived with air freshener by request and unstuck the window which we couldn't get open but it took all weekend for the smell to fade - this was only achieved after we rolled up the rug and placed it in a spare bedroom. We noticed stains on it and believe this could have been the main source of the smell. The oven was dirty and clearly hadn't been cleaned for some time. We booked this as a self catering property but were reluctant to use this oven & had to eat out all weekend. There were oven trays & crockery left draining in the sink and on the draining board when we arrived. Overall dinginess of the back of the property i.e. kitchen and back bedrooms. Bare floorboards throughout upstairs makes walking barefoot unpleasant. Downstairs toilet opens straight out into the kitchen and the ceiling in this toilet is too low for a man to stand up in. Mop & bucket, vacuum cleaner and unpleasant looking ironing board all left out in the kitchen.

Summary: Our stay here was marred by the smell and extra expense of having to eat out.
