Positive: We liked everything. Location is perfect for a quiet vacation, nested between the Danube Delta and the Black Sea. One would say it is a bit remote, since you cannot drive all the way there. Instead, you can leave your car for free in their private parking and take a 30 minute boat trip across Golovita Lake. Rooms are spacious (we stayed in one of the bungalows) and clean. The beach is clean, with gazebos large enough for 3 sunbeds (included in the room price if you stay more than 3 nights). Food is great, mostly based on traditional, local recipes. There are a lot of fish based options, both from the Danube Delta and from the Black Sea. Non-fish options are also available. The staff was friendly and strove to make us feel welcome. It all came together for a great vacation.

Negative: Hard pressed to find something not to like. We went to Gura Portitei to get away from the crowded Romanian resorts in high season, and deliberately chose location over luxury. The only thing we truly missed was beach towels, but we made without.
