Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The staff were very accommodating and changed our room at very short notice. The breakfast was excellent and so to was the coffee.

Negative: It’s a lovely setting but it feels like the grounds have been neglected. Gardens are overgrown, weeds are everywhere, and even the signs are so weathered they’re difficult to read. A little extra care and attention would make such a big difference. Having run a rural hospitality business myself, I know how much work is involved in keeping outdoor areas tidy, but it’s also the small details that guests really notice. During our visit we saw several staff on their phones while simple jobs around the property were left undone, which didn’t give the best impression. This place has so much potential if more focus was given to maintaining the grounds.

Summary: Great service from the young lady when we arrived, pity things look so un loved.
